10 years after its launch , the pioneer media players facelift . Simple facelift or real revival for the veteran ?
Faced with iTunes and Windows Media Player , Winamp supported increasingly not compare in terms of ergonomics and aesthetics.
Its new interface, completely redesigned , draw a line on the concept of detachable windows sometimes called true gifts juggling .
Clearer and more modern , it allows a better layout of the library , controls and playlist. A tab system facilitates navigation between the different elements.
Finally , Winamp now supports natively (without plug- in) album covers , a feature that radically changes using the player even if it is still far from Cover Flow.
Winamp now includes a web browser to surf without leaving the interface. Convenient access to many playlists available on the web and save their location in the media library.
The toolbar included to control the player from the browser highlights the publisher policy : more Internet Winamp ... and vice versa.
Remote function on it to read and share multimedia files or Winamp remotely from a web browser , provided that allow to run a program in the background .
On the one hand , a lifting of the interface really successful. On the other hand , functions that considerably dull and feel more opportunism than a real innovation. More changes were welcome.
Mixed results for this player remains still excel in many areas. Try pending version 6 which begins to be desired .
